What Sets Us Apart?
|
|
Houses, when structurally sound, tend to last forever, but their integral parts wear out
on a predictable basis. Every home requires constant upkeep and maintenance to retain its value
in a crowded marketplace and to bring continuous safety and pleasure to the homeowner.

Today's economy is paying close attention to the baby boomers. According to the
US Census Bureau, as of July 1, 2005 there were over 78 million Americans that were born between 1946
and 1964. Most of them have already purchased their first homes. These folks are now contemplating how to stay
in their current home comfortably. As this portion of our population ages, more outside assistance will
be required to keep their homes maintained. Handyman Matters recognizes this and offers a 10% discount
to senior citizens.
Our business model is time + materials. This allows our franchisees and their craftsmen flexibility
in their scheduling. The benefit to the customer is they can discuss their To Do List and (even if
they add to it on the day of service), the craftsman can explain how additional tasks will affect the
total bill. It also is a window of opportunity for each craftsman to notice small repairs that he
could easily accomplish in the time allotted. This often turns a one-time customer into a lifelong
friend.
Trust is always on the minds of our predominantly female customers. Our craftsmen have all successfully
passed a rigorous background check before they are hired. Our ongoing training enhances their
understanding and respect for a customers home.
We embrace community service and understand that our talents go a long way when combined with
other businesses and citizens to complete projects. Each quarter our corporate staff engages with a non-profit
to model the community leadership way. From Habitat for Humanity to local food bank service,
Handyman Matters continues to live their values of service and family.
