Making a Difference

Handyman Matters owners are making a difference in their communities in four ways:

1. To The Community

All Handyman Matters franchises donate a minimum of 6 hours of time each month to charitable causes in their communities.  Some do much more.  We also offer a 10% discount to senior citizens.

2. To Our Customers

One of our locations got a call one day at 4:45 PM from an elderly woman.  She was totally frustrated because she couldn’t get her new TV remote to work and the store where she bought it was not at all helpful.  She called us as a last resort.  She was not even a customer of ours, but. . .

As it happened, one of our owners on his way home was able to stop by her home, program her remote and set up her favorite stations.  It only took him 15 minutes, so he didn’t charge her.  She was so grateful and appreciative that made his day.

Now, she tells everyone about what we did for her and it this has undoubtedly created many new customers for that owner.  But that’s not why he stopped by, he did it to help and because he could.  When you give without expecting anything in return, it ends up coming back to you tenfold.

Solving problems and eliminating those small aggravations in life is what we do every day.  If you like the idea of making a difference in people’s lives this way, we need to talk.

Our customers are forefront in our business and maintaining their confidence is a high priority. At Handyman Matters, a dress code and a confirmation phone call were among the requests customers had for their home repair service.

We’re at your service…Because our customers keep our business growing, we follow the following principles:

  • Background checks
  • Dress code for all craftsmen
  • Respect for property
    • Craftsmen never park in the customers driveway (fluid leaks avoided)
    • Craftsmen enter the property with clean shoes/boots
    • Craftsmen leave the property as clean, if not cleaner, than they entered
  • Each craftsman calls the customer the evening prior to the job and verifies the time of arrival
  • Hours of operation are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
  • Small home repairs and projects
  • Discounts for senior citizens
  • Strong ties to community service
  • Family friendly
  • Ideals that include honesty, integrity, and respect
  • A “can do” attitude that leads our customers to say…
”I’d refer this company to anyone, anytime.”

3. To Our Craftsmen

Many of our skilled craftsmen come to us and have been just getting by on their own spending a lot of time both trying to find work and then do the work.

Because Handyman Matters offers them a career development path and training, we often see craftsmen going from having no money at the the end of the week to getting married and buying homes.

4. For Themselves

Our owners become well respected and valuable members of their communities and are in a position of prestige as an owner of Handyman Matters.  Everyone you meet has things that just never to seem to get done at home or around the office so you can be their “go to” problem solver.

Then, once people know, like and trust you, you can do those larger remodeling projects for them too.
